Stride Through September

Help fight neuroblastoma, one step at a time.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Stride through September by taking 10,000 steps a day - and help fight childhood cancer, one step at a time.

How it works

Simply walk 10,000 steps every day in September and raise money for Neuroblastoma UK.

Walking upstairs, around the garden or to the shops all add up - it’s up to you how you reach your daily target!

Sign up for just £5 and ask family and friends to sponsor you - we can help you set up a fundraising page and email you lots of tips, support and advice during your challenge.

How to take part:

  1. Sign up online before the 1st September and donate £5 to register (this will help us to cover our admin costs).

  2. Set up your fundraising page on Just Giving, and ask all your family and friends to sponsor you. There’s no minimum sponsorship, but raise over £200 and you’ll receive a unique Stride through September medal!

  3. Count your steps however you want. Use your phone’s pedometer, a fitness watch or a tracking app like Strava. You can also download your Stride through September tracker (PDF) to keep check on your daily steps.

  4. You can link your fundraising page to Strava, if you’re using the app - a great way to keep your supporters updated with your efforts!

  5. Join our page Stride Through September Facebook page to see how your fellow walkers are getting along and to keep inspired throughout September.

  6. Suggest songs for our Stride Spotify list! Let us know any songs you’d like to walk to by emailing fundraising@neuroblastoma.org.uk. We can then add them to our Neuroblastoma UK Spotify list for everyone taking part to listen to!

  7. Get walking! Start your challenge on 1st September - the start of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month - and keep going until 30th September.

Bonuses for you:

  • Raise over £200 and we’ll send you a medal reserved for our top fundraisers.

  • Be part of our honorary fundraiser photo wall and inspire others to take part.

  • Our top three fundraisers will receive a technical Neuroblastoma UK t-shirt!

  • Every participant will receive a Stride through September frame for your social media profiles and fundraising page.

  • Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a Finisher’s e-Certificate - everyone’s a winner in this challenge!

Stay safe when you Stride

Stride through September can be done anywhere, anytime - even during a lock down. But it’s important to stay safe and stay alert. Social distancing may still be in place come September, so please keep an eye on the government’s advice.

The coronavirus pandemic has led us to predict a 30% drop in donations to our charity. We need your support more than ever to continue funding vital research into new, more effective and kinder treatments for neuroblastoma.
